Seeking a Health and Safety Manager for a complex Federal contract that includes time-critical emergency responses to site-related environmental issues, including disaster/emergency response, and environmental investigations and remedial alternative analysis. This person oversees the health and safety program under a Federal (U.S. EPA) contract. This person assures the contractor's compliance with OSHA requirements, including but not limited to, 29 CFR 1910.120. This person establishes and approves health and safety SOPs, develops, reviews, and approves site specific health and safety plans, and conducts field audits. Demonstrates experience in field sampling and analysis using OSHA, EPA, NIOSH and ASTM methods, is experienced with decontamination and or mitigation methods and toxicology and has the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
This position oversees Health and Safety aspects of the following contract/program work scope areas:
•Environmental/Hazardous Material Emergency Response/Rapid Mobilization
•Air Monitoring/Sampling
•Mobile/Transportable Laboratories
•Fixed Analytical Laboratory
•Environmental Field Investigations/Assessment
•Engineering
•Geological/Geotechnical Assessments
•Aquatic Investigations
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Health and Safety program for a complex environmental investigation and emergency response contract, including field environmental investigation activities; environmental, waste and chemical sampling in all levels of PPE; environmental emergency response; fixed chemical laboratory operations; DOT compliance for CDL and related activities; and other related activities.
This individual must be able to respond to National environmental, chemical and oil emergencies on a 24/7/365 basis.
Location: Edison, NJ. This is a full-time, in-person position. This position requires a Federal background check and Security clearance, or ability to obtain a Security clearance, for access to Federal facilities and requires compliance with a Federal drug-free workplace.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a minimum of a B.S. Degree and 14 years of experience in the development and implementation of a Health and Safety program as required under 29 CFR 1910.120/ 40 CFR 311 and other OSHA and EPA applicable guidance documents related to health and safety.
