Flux Resources is seeking a Fire Chief to join one of our clients on full time direct-hire basis. This role will require candidates to deploy and be on-site at Camp Doha, Qatar. . 


Overview
Under the supervision of the Emergency Services Director, is responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice. Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance. Maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills. Completes the requirements in the PWS and IAW DoD regulations. Submits all fire and rescue incident data using Fire Incident Reporting System (FIRS) software, which allows for automatic reporting, posting information on our website. This allows 24/7 Government oversight and assists in controlling and scheduling all fire safety inspections, as well as posting fire detection and alarm system operational status, fire discrepancy reports, and daily manning summaries.

Major Job Activities

  • The Fire Chief shall have the authority to commit Contractor’s labor forces and the use of resources to meet Fire & Emergency services requirements for the Life Support Service (ILS) contract.
  • Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance
  • Maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills
  • Completes the requirements in the PWS and IAW DoD regulations
  • Submits all fire and rescue incident data using Fire Incident Reporting System (FIRS) software
  • Responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Material & Equipment Directly Used
  • Operates non-tactical vehicles as required. Operates specialized fire vehicles/equipment.
  • Personal computer, laptops, scanners, printers, telephones, 10 key calculators, data devices, and other office related equipment.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Administration/Management, Business or related field).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess and maintain valid Secret Clearance
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Heavy Duty Driver’s License.

Certifications:
  • Must be certified under the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
  • Certified as Firefighter II, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector II, EMT (paramedic preferred), HAZMAT Incident Commander.
  • Other advanced applicable Professional Certifications such as Chief Fire Officer (CFO) or Executive Fire Officer (EFO) are advantageous.

Experience:
  • The Fire Chief shall have a minimum of 10 years’ experience progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience in fire and life safety education, prevention, and emergency response work (is within a municipal or county fire department) w/ minimum of 5 years of command and supervisory experience at the level of a Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief.

Leadership/Communication Skills:
  • Strong management and leadership abilities are essential. Fire Chiefs must be able to lead and inspire their team, make strategic decisions, and effectively manage resources and personnel. Effective communication skills to be able to communicate clearly with their team, other emergency response agencies, local Government officials, and the public.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice.
  • Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance.

Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of operating Fire Vehicles (examples: automobiles, fire apparatus, and heavy construction equipment) to perform normal and emergency- level firefighting duties
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well
