What You'll Do:
The Material Handling Engineer will work on projects in support of Glass, Metals, and Manufacturing sectors.
- Develop process flow diagrams for the material handling system.
- Determine equipment to be used and generate specifications for the purchase of the equipment
- Develop material handling project scope and cost estimates
- Direct the design of other engineers, designers and sub-contractors to support his/her effort.
- Coordinate with other disciplines leads on multi-discipline projects to drive the team to a successful project completion.
- Work closely with clients to understand and facilitate the design and construction of their process.
- Travel to client facilities for gathering of field data and project review meetings.
- Travel to client facilities and provide onsite technical help working with contractors.
The position will require 30% travel to client sites for filed investigation and will require extended travel during installation of equipment.
Who You Are:
- Minimum of 10 years of material handling experience and onsite project assistance.
- Leadership skills to manage the design team and work directly with the client team.
- Experience in design of bulk material handling systems from bulk unloading through the final product. Example equipment would be: material storage, elevators, conveyors/feeders, weighing systems, pneumatic conveying, bulk filling systems.
- Experience with glass batch handling systems a plus.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-starter and with minimal leadership required in day to day activities.
The pay for this position ranges from $50.00 to $63.00 per hour. Actual starting pay is dependent upon experience, education, or other bona fide factors. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
