An All 5’s Yard Manager is responsible for the overall management of the yard for All 5’s Construction. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the scheduling, ordering, repairing, maintaining, dispersing, and organization of equipment and supplies from the yard, as well as overall maintenance of the office and yard facilities. General mechanical aptitude is a must to maintain, service, and repair tools and equipment to meet safety requirements. Inventory software knowledge and implementation will be required to keep track of all company equipment and materials.
At All 5's, a Yard Manager will be responsible for:
Resource Management: Managing and organizing the resources within the construction yard, including equipment, machinery, tools, and materials. Ensuring the necessary resources are available and properly maintained for efficient project execution.
Logistics and Inventory Control: Handling the logistics and inventory control within the construction yard which includes receiving and organizing incoming materials, tracking inventory levels, coordinating deliveries and pickups, and ensuring that materials are readily available when needed.
Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure its optimal functioning. Scheduling routine maintenance, coordinating repairs, and keeping maintenance records up to date.
Equipment Disposal and Replacement: Handling the disposal or replacement process when equipment reaches the end of its useful life or is no longer cost-effective to maintain. This may involve selling or auctioning off equipment, coordinating trade-ins, or managing equipment retirement in compliance with environmental regulations.
Equipment Acquisition and Planning: Assessing the construction project requirements and planning the acquisition of necessary equipment. This includes identifying equipment needs, researching available options, obtaining price quotes, and making recommendations on equipment purchases or rentals.
Safety and Compliance: Safety is a critical aspect of construction yard operations. Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Conducting safety inspections, providing training to yard personnel, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
Team Management: Overseeing the yard staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that work is performed efficiently and safely. Handling staffing, scheduling, and performance management within the yard.
Communication and Coordination: Effective communication and coordination are essential for smooth yard operations. Serving as a liaison between different teams, such as project managers, contractors, and suppliers. Communicating project requirements, coordinating activities, and addressing any issues or challenges that arise within the yard.
Vendor and Supplier Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with equipment vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Negotiating contracts, coordinating equipment deliveries and pickups, and managing relationships to ensure timely and reliable equipment support.
Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records related to yard operations, including inventory records, equipment logs, maintenance reports, and safety documentation. Preparing reports on yard activities, resource utilization, and any relevant metrics for management review.
Policies and Procedures: Writing policies and procedures for checking out and checking in tools, ordering equipment, maintaining equipment, etc.
Recommend improvements: Reviewing the existing processes and procedures, and promoting processes and procedures that make the operations of the yard more efficient.
Spare Parts and Consumable items: Maintaining spare parts/supply inventory along with all the PPE gear required for operations, and coordinating the purchasing of these materials and supplies for use by the yard and the operations team.
Tool Use and Education: Making frequent visits to the construction job sites to review proper training, use, and maintenance by the field teams when using yard tools and equipment.
Tool Rental Billings: Working closely with Field Operations and Accounting to perform monthly billing for equipment and tools.

High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience with managing and operating tools, equipment, and/or warehouse.
Ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and recommend corrective measures or repair.
