Civil or Environmental Project Engineer
Location: Lincolnshire, IL or Okemos, MI
Pay: $80k-$120k
We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide support for a variety of civil and environmental engineering projects including groundwater extraction and treatment system design, construction and operations support, groundwater and soil remediation investigation and design, and wastewater treatment design and construction.
Job Duties:
- Position responsibilities will include coordination with Project Manager to ensure the completion of the engineering scope within the required schedule and budget; preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications; technical report writing; field investigations/site reconnaissance; project permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies; engineering cost estimating and analysis; engineering design calculations; bid and award services; RFI and submittal review, and construction phase engineering services.
- Provide support for environmental projects including environmental sampling field work, data management/tabulation and analysis, subcontractor oversight, and reporting.
- Prepare project scopes of work and budget estimates; coordinate with team on preparation of design documents; coordinate with internal QA/QC reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative assistants.
- This position may require an estimated 25% travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client site representative and construction contractors.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 5-10 years of experience. Illinois-Licensed P.E. certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients and regulatory agencies.
- Excellent organization and operations planning skills.
- Self-starter, detailed oriented, and finisher.
- Proficient using typical business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.).
The pay for this position ranges from $80,000-$120,000 a year. Actual starting pay is dependent upon experience, education, or other bona fide factors. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
