POSITION OVERVIEW The MEP Superintendent’s role is to assist in the planning, coordination, and management ofl activities related to the construction, startup and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical, and control systems in accordance with the contract documents and project schedule. This position requires an understanding of Data Center MEP system construction and a technical background / understanding on the mechanical and electrical equipment and systems operation. The MEP Superintendent will assist in implementing an energization safety plan, managing the startup up all critical equipment and BAS integration, pretesting the critical systems to confirm readiness for commissioning, supporting and coordinating all start-up and commissioning activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Track and coordinate equipment deliveries • Manage and coordinate vendor coverage • Develop MEP critical path startup schedule • Manage implementation of electrical safety program • Coordinate electrical energization for the site and equipment • Conduct QA/QC inspection of equipment for completeness of work prior to energizing • Organize and conduct coordination meetings for critical MEP activities • Manage track critical path construction activities • Work with subcontractors and design team to provide conflict resolution for MEP issues • Coordinate and manage startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems • Use Cx Alloy or Microsoft Compass software to track commissioning documentation • Manage assembly and turnover of the commissioning documentation including FWT, L2, L3, QA/QC, PFPT • Coordinate and support third party commissioning activities • Coordinate and manage the quality control process for MEP systems • Develop MOP’s for critical work in live environments • Build strong client relations
QUALIFICATIONS • 7 years’ experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction • 5 years combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning • Strong communication skills; verbal and written • Strong leadership skills; able to build and lead a team • Capable in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities • Aptitude for problem solving • Ability to work independently • Motivated self-starter • Effectively utilize computer and software technology in the performance of duties
The pay for this position ranges from $110,000-$150,000 a year. Actual starting pay is dependent upon experience, education, or other bona fide factors. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
