We are currently seeking Geotechnical Engineers in support of FEMA disaster relief efforts across the United States. Are you wanting to give back to communities? What you will be doing:
These deployments focus on rebuilding/reconstruction efforts for anything owned by a government entity such as infrastructure including roadways, bridges, and highways, city/county buildings, school and hospitals. You will be assisting these entities throughout the FEMA grants application process. This could include reviewing construction drawings and change orders for large commercial facilities and/or roadways and bridges to provide technical guidance/recommendations, review/conduct site inspections; validate damages; record detailed damage descriptions, scopes of work and cost estimates; and evaluate projects for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Expected pay: $55/hr.
Requirements:
• Must have a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
Tasks:
o Review and prepare amendments for scopes of work, including related code and standard requirements.
o Review project cost estimates.
o Review applicant-provided cost claims for reasonableness and eligibility.
o Review applicant labor policies, pay rates and fringe benefit information.
o Draft eligibility recommendations
o Draft costs analysis
o Perform accurate quantification and provide detailed description of disaster related damage, including debris.
