The QA/QC Associate is responsible for implementing a quality control plan for the CSA general construction activities as well as MEP equipment and system commissioning related activities. The QA/QC Associate will meet with the contractor team and client to develop a list of project specific features of work (FOW’s). They will conduct the appropriate preparatory and initial QC meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with the quality control plan and track deficiencies and non-conformance issues through completion.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the Planning Phase of the QC program by meeting with the QCS Team, Project Manager and Superintendent to align project expectations for the Quality Control Program (QCP)
- Develop Preparatory and Initial Phase meeting agendas and inspection templates for each Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) FOW
- Execute four phases of control (Planning, Preparatory, Initial and Inspections) for each CSA and MEP FOW with the subcontractors, vendors, and client(s) and perform all required meetings
- Inspect all CSA materials against the approved submittals for compliance
- Document and track all QC documentation including all required CSA third party inspections and test reports through BIM 360, Procore, or other required software
- Manage subcontractors QCP participation requirements for the three phases of control
- Collect and audit all FWT reports and ensure that all issues found during the FWT have been resolved prior to the equipment being shipped
- Assist with the development of all required MEP/QC checklists for L2/L3 activities on BIM 360 or other required software
- Assist the Site MEP Manager with document control for the MEP QC-Cx Process through BIM 360 or other required software
- Assist the QC/Cx Team with Inspecting incoming MEP equipment for submittal compliance, noting any damages, and that they are properly stored
- Assist the MEP team to perform MEP equipment inspections throughout the QC/Cx process up to equipment lockout and energization (L3) and fill out required BIM 360 checklists
- Assist the HITT QC/Cx team on the field to ensure all MEP QC equipment testing and inspection activities are being executed according to code and specification requirements
- Audit all MEP QC/Cx inspections, tests and documented activities for completion, accuracy, and that all required documents are provided
- Perform various site walkthroughs and report any issues or deficiencies through BIM 360, Procore or other required software in addition to notifying the Site QC Team
- Ensure that our subcontractors and vendors execute effective and timely corrective actions on all quality related deficiencies
- Audit daily reports, deficiency logs, test/inspection logs and all other quality documentation for program compliance
- Ensure that all MEP equipment is protected upon arrival and during installation
- Ensure safe work practices are being implemented across the QC program
- Develop final punch list and oversee the project closeout process
- Ensure that all punch list items are resolved on the field on a timely basis
- Track and maintain the referenced specifications for the various equipment and trades.
- Monitor the completeness of various project tracking matrixes per the contract requirements
- Attend all QA/QC related meetings including meetings with the client and the onsite team
- Provide daily activity reports to QC and MEP managers and participate in MEP and Cx related meetings when requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent project related experience
- Certification with the Army Corps of Engineers- Construction Quality Management for Contractors (Does not have to be active)
- OSHA-30 Certification is required
- Proven track record with executing the Quality Control Process
- Exceptional knowledge with the MEP discipline including mission critical electrical, mechanical and building monitoring systems (BMS) systems
- Exceptional knowledge with the Cx process and reviewing test and inspection documentation
- Proficient knowledge of building codes, NFPA-70E, and the NEC
- Professional attitude and passion for QA/QC
- Exceptional with Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
- Excellent written, verbal and computer skills are required
- Proficient with the use of the following software based on project requirements: BIM-360, Procore, Compass, CxAlloy and others
Pay for the position is $60/hr.
