We are currently seeking Historic Preservation/Architectural Historians for our client who supports FEMA disaster relief efforts across the United States. FEMA’s mission is to support citizens and first responders to ensure that as a Nation, we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

Pay: $55/hr.
REMOTE
Project: Puerto Rico


Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure that any proposed project actions comply with environmental, floodplain, and historic preservation laws, regulations, and executive orders.
  • May conduct environmental assessments and environmental impact statements.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve problems concerning the environment.
  • May design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
  • Perform experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
  • Ensure the organization's conformance to federal, state, and local environmental legislation. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • PE, PWS, CWB, NCARB or comparable certification.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Written communication and computer skills
