The Geospatial Analyst should be competent in performing HEC-RAS 2D on grid modeling. This type of analysis can be run pre-fire and post-fire using the publicly available layers of the burn perimeter map, the soil burn severity map, and recent topographical or elevation maps suitable for modeling (3DEP, LiDAR). This type of analysis would clearly show the pre-fire and post-fire flood surface elevation changes of a given location. The Geospatial Analyst’s produced maps may be used in the SME reports for Erosion Repair, Risk Reduction, and eligibility of cascading impacts.
