Summary This role is a senior-level Commissioning Electrical Lead position focused on end-to-end commissioning of high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage electrical systems within hyperscale data center environments. You will act as the Owner’s Commissioning Lead across multiple projects, overseeing all commissioning phases (Level 1–5) from pre-functional testing through final system handover. The role requires deep technical expertise in electrical infrastructure including HV/MV distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, EPMS, and related controls. You will coordinate closely with general contractors, commissioning agents, engineers, and OEM vendors to ensure all systems are fully tested, validated, and ready for operational service in high-density compute environments.
Our Ideal Candidate 5+ years of experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center commissioning
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Strong background in electrical systems commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting
Deep understanding of HV/MV/LV systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS, and generators
Familiarity with NETA testing standards and ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines preferred
Experience working across complex stakeholder environments (GCs, OEMs, consultants, owners)
Strong organizational, communication, and on-site leadership skills
Ability to assess, validate, and troubleshoot electrical systems at a high technical level Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with EPMS, PLC-based controls, and integrated electrical/mechanical systems
Background in hyperscale or mission-critical data center environments
Electrical Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) preferred
Responsibilities Review and validate commissioning plans, testing procedures, and verification documentation
Coordinate with commissioning agents and engineers to execute HV/MV/LV system testing programs
Ensure all electrical systems meet design intent and operational requirements
Monitor and maintain commissioning records, issue logs, test results, and reports
Conduct site inspections, enforce safety protocols, and track commissioning progress
Diagnose and resolve technical issues during startup and functional testing
Oversee commissioning of generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, ATS/STS, EPMS, and related systems
Validate control system integration and electrical/mechanical coordination where applicable
Lead final system handover ensuring readiness for operational service
Compensation & Benefits • The base salary for this W-2 position ranges from $96.15 – $120.19 per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
