Electrical Design Engineer, Data Center Design Engineering

This is a full-time, on-site role located in New York, NY.

Summary

The Electrical Design Engineer will support the design and development of resilient, high-performance electrical infrastructure for large-scale AI and HPC data center environments. This role is responsible for supporting electrical system design from early concept development through permitting, construction, commissioning, and turnover. The ideal candidate has hands-on mission-critical electrical design experience, strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, and operations teams to deliver highly reliable facilities.

Our Ideal Candidate
 

  • 4+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, ideally supporting mission-critical or data center environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Hands-on experience designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities
  • Knowledge of critical data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
  • Experience supporting design concepts through development, construction documentation, and deployment
  • Understanding of constructability considerations for electrical infrastructure systems
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, electrical standards, and regional regulations
  • Experience supporting the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support technical decision-making across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to support projects throughout the full lifecycle from site evaluation through commissioning and turnover
Responsibilities
 
  • Support the design and development of mission-critical electrical distribution systems for AI and HPC data center environments
  • Assist with electrical infrastructure design from concept development through permitting and construction documentation
  • Develop and review electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables
  • Define critical equipment requirements and support equipment evaluation and submittal review processes
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout project execution
  • Support constructability reviews and technical evaluations for varying electrical design approaches
  • Participate in site reviews, commissioning activities, startup support, and turnover processes
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, controls, and construction teams to ensure integrated infrastructure delivery
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability, scalability, efficiency, and deployment speed
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of electrical design or construction issues during project execution
Compensation & Benefits
 
  • The pay for this position ranges from approximately $86.54/hr – $129.81/hr based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
