Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centers
This is a full-time exempt (40+ hours/week), field-based role requiring 100% travel to project sites across the United States.
Summary
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight for the design and deployment of large-scale, mission-critical data center electrical infrastructure. This role focuses on the complete electrical power delivery chain—from medium-voltage utility interconnections and distribution systems through low-voltage architectures and rack-level power delivery.
The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority across multiple projects, ensuring electrical designs meet performance, reliability, scalability, and code compliance requirements. This position will play a critical role in establishing engineering standards, reviewing complex electrical systems, and maintaining design consistency across a rapidly expanding portfolio of hyperscale and AI-focused data center developments.
Given the highly field-oriented nature of this position, extensive travel is required to support project execution, design reviews, commissioning activities, and stakeholder coordination across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and review of electrical system designs across the full data center power distribution chain
- Evaluate and guide designs for:
- Medium-voltage distribution systems
- Low-voltage distribution systems
- UPS architectures
- Switchgear and power distribution equipment
- Rack-level power delivery infrastructure
- Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and engineering best practices
- Review electrical topologies and provide recommendations based on reliability, redundancy, maintainability, and operational requirements
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and design guidelines for data center electrical infrastructure
- Support multidisciplinary design reviews and coordinate with mechanical, controls, commissioning, and operations teams
- Identify design risks and implement solutions that improve resiliency, efficiency, and constructability
- Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities for new facilities
- Conduct site visits, engineering assessments, and technical audits across active project locations
- Maintain technical consistency across multiple concurrent projects and deployments
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical infrastructure and operational performance
Our Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and applicable industry experience
