QA/QC Engineer (MEP/Cx)

Summary

  • Mid-level field QA/QC role supporting data center project delivery.
  • Responsible for executing the QA/QC program across L1-L5 commissioning levels as assigned.
  • Works on-site full-time, typically 40-50 hours per week, with potential overtime.
  • Supports quality execution for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Oversees inspections, documentation, deliverable tracking, and issue management.
  • Coordinates with subcontractors and project teams to confirm readiness and quality compliance.
  • Helps ensure commissioning and QA/QC requirements are completed in accordance with project expectations.
  • Traveler role with covered expenses for project-based assignments across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Review MEP project drawings, approved submittals, and specifications as needed.
  • Inspect incoming MEP equipment and complete required receiving checklists in the designated software platform.
  • Perform preparatory phase meetings with subcontractors and confirm readiness to work on-site when required.
  • Review MEP mockups for equipment or specific systems as required by specifications.
  • Document and track required QA/QC deliverables and test reports during L2 and L3, including NETA, short circuit studies, torque and Megger sheets, TAB, and related documentation.
  • Ensure set-in-place inspection checklists are completed by the appropriate project teams, subcontractors, or vendors.
  • Perform foreign object debris inspections, final equipment inspections prior to L3 energization, and confirm L3 startup documentation is provided.
  • Track documentation, record observations, manage issues in the required software platform, and ensure timely closeout.

Ideal Candidate

  • Self-starter who can work effectively in a field-based QA/QC environment.
  • OSHA-30 certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
  • 3-5 years of data center experience.
  • 2-5 years of QA/QC experience.
  • Proficient with commissioning and QA/QC processes.
  • Proficient knowledge of MEP systems.
  • Strong on-site safety awareness.
  • Proficient with QA/QC software platforms such as Procore, Cx Alloy, Facilities Grid, or similar tools.

Nice to Have

  • Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) certification.
  • NFPA-70E certification.
  • Experience supporting high-profile data center clients.
  • Experience supporting methods of procedure development for specific equipment or systems.
